Miner to launch exploration, drilling at Colombian copper-molyb-denum project

Vancouver-based Rugby Mining has unveiled plans to launch a comprehensive exploration programme at Co-brasco, its large-scale undrilled porphyry copper-molybdenum project in western Colombia, this April

A community agreement and water permits have been to proceed with the drilling which is expected to commence this June, the com-pany said in a statement

Yale Simpson, the chairman of Rugby, was quoted as saying that the miner “acquired Cobrasco in 2013, with the intention to explore and develop it as a world-class copper deposit. The Cobrasco footprint is large, based on the mapping, sampling and geophysics completed historically”

The 43-101 independent report commissioned by the company “con-firmed the potential of a large porphyry system, however, it firstly needs systematic groundwork ahead of drill site selection. Fortu-nately, we have an experienced team to undertake that program and have the community support necessary to proceed with haste. To say we are excited about getting on with the discovery process is an un-derstatement,” he said
